Brunch at Hundred Acres

I had brunch this past Saturday at Hundred Acres. It has the same owners as 5 Points (which I love), so I had to go. The bloody's were great - they were garnished with something called pickled dilly beans and I couldn't get enough. It was packed so it took us a little while to be seated, but it was worth the wait. We started with the squash soup and split the grilled cheese with pears and candied pecans & the red pepper scramble - yum. The grilled cheese was buttery and delicious. Next time, I'll get the donuts too.

Birthday Dinner at Del Posto

I had dinner this past Friday night with my boyfriend at Del Posto. Being recognized as one of Mario Batali's best and most well known restaurants, we were really excited to try.

The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the service was excellent. The food, not so much. We had a couple of snafoo's (food undercooked being one) which were unexpected in such a fine dinig establishment, so I don't think I'll be returning. My boyfriend liked it much more than I did though (he had the duck). Despite the mishaps, we still had such a great time together.

Gnocco

I had dinner at Gnocco with some friends the other night and it was great. We started with the homemade burrata and Tartufata pizza (INSANELY GOOD!) - fresh mozzarella, truffle sauce, mushrooms and speck. I picked off the speck. I had the gnocci for my main and it was good, not great. I'll go back for that pizza alone. We loved it so much we got one to go! Cute little restaurant in the East Village and it even has an outdoor garden.

Freemans, Abe & Arthur's and ABC Kitchen

I had dinner at Freemans last night, finally! I've been wanting to try for years and finally went. We had shrimp fried in a sweet cornmeal and muscles to start, I had the trout as my main, and the brussels sprouts and mac n' cheese as our sides. I must say the mac n' cheese was my favorite part of the meal. Ah-mazing. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, the food is great, but if you don't get there before 7 plan on waiting a while for a table.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I was watching Bethenny Getting Married a while ago and saw her and a friend delving into something decadent at Abe & Arthurs. I knew immediately I had to go. We went with some friends this past Tuesday night and none of us were disappointed. The atmosphere is tres trendy (expected nothing less) and so is the crowd (models galore). It was a great evening - I highly recommend the grilled octopus, the parmesan truffle fries and french toast bread pudding.
4.5 stars.

There was a lot of hype around ABC Kitchen so we went last Friday night for a date night. The atmosphere was beautiful, as to be expected from anything ABC but I was a little disappointed in the food. The pretzel dusted calamari was awesome, but that was about it.
